Emmys 2012: Top 10 Best Dressed

Padma Lakshmi in Monique Lhuillier- She couldn’t have picked a better dress to wear. The warm orange looked amazing against her tan skin, and it fit to perfection.

Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra- I’m partial to this dress because my cousin wore it in white to her wedding last month! It was a great choice for Zooey Deschanel as well; the ample cleavage helped Zooey look fun and not dowdy and the powder blue hue was sweet  just like the flower scalloped edges on the thin layers of the skirt.

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen- It’s no wonder Kelly has been topping best dressed lists since joining Fashion Police. This lilac number reminded me of her dress from the awards show a year before but nonetheless it’s gorgeous. Bonus points for the flawless makeup.

Sarah Paulson in Reem Acra- I loved this modern Cinderella gown with the ribbon belt and cascading beads atop tulle. So pretty!

January Jones in Zac Posen- Part Lady Gaga, part enchanted romantic, the whirly dress was a bit daring even though it was all black.

Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa- This dress probably would have received an A even without the sari inspired draping but the sheer blue fabric which collected in pieces around her feet gave it exotic spin.

Sarah Hyland in Marchesa-  A change from the mostly bright or jewel tones, she choose a gray gown with rhinestone embellishment on the sleeves. The dress looked finely crafted and beautiful.

Elisabeth Moss in Dolce and Gabbana- She delivered in a silky gown with flirty ruffles. The high-low hemline emabled her to show off her gams and she dressed her feet with basic black pumps which didn’t distract from the floral dress.

Giuliana Rancic in Romona Keveza- I almost don’t want to give her credit for picking such a safe option, but sometimes finding an expensive dress with the right fabric and fit is all you need to nail it, and that’s exactly the hypothesis she used.

Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad and Julianne Hough in Georges Hobeika- Both women came in sexy mermaid dresses that attested to the fact that you can be thin and curvy. I prefer the shimmering detail and texture of the Rock of Ages star but it’s almost too sea-like.Vergara sparkles with sequins aligned in all different directions and more restricting bottom.

A special shout-out for Tina Fey who wore something stylish, form-fitting, and ideal for her frame. We knew her dressing skills were right up there with her sketch comedy gifts.
